Generator FAQs

Answers to the questions Oklahoma homeowners ask most about whole-home generators — from sizing and installation to maintenance and financing.

1. What happens during my free in-home assessment?

Discussion of your power needs. We will discuss what items you would like to be backed up by your home standby generator. We will discuss the best location for your generator to be placed. We will evaluate your home's electrical system and the best options to install the transfer switch. We will evaluate your home's gas system. 2. How long does it take to install a generator?

In most cases the generator is installed in one day. We then have to wait on the electrical and gas inspections. Once those inspections are complete, we will come back out to finish the job and perform a test of the generator system.

3. What happens between signing the contract and installation day?

We will put you on our schedule for the installation.

4. What makes a "good" installation versus a "bad" one?

Permits and inspections are very important — if the other company is not getting permits and inspections, that's a red flag. We will show you tons of pictures of our installations. We also post our pictures online because we do the best work possible and do not need to hide anything.

Properly sizing the gas and electric for the generator is of utmost importance. We will always size the generator for your needs and provide documentation of how we came up with our evaluation.
